Over the years I have spoken about how important it is to be aware of our energy especially in the way we live our lives. Yet it's not taught to us unless we are already seeking the answers to questions, such as ‘there must be more to life than this?’, or if people have already been introduced to manifestation and abundance practices such as Law of Attraction.
Everything is made of energy, yet as humans we do not need to understand it or know about it in our everyday lives. We just know that things are there and don’t question it. However, understanding energy is important for your wellbeing just as drinking enough water, eating healthy food and breathing in clean air.
We all have energetic bodies. The one we concern ourselves with on a daily existence level is the physical energy. However, everything that we experience in our physical existence is first manifested in the other energetic bodies, for example, the mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.
When one or all of these energetic bodies are unbalanced, it can cause dis-ease in the physical body. Whether this is literally illness or experiencing negative or undesired experiences (i.e. struggle, constantly receiving bad news, feelings of being cursed or constantly being taken for granted) it all starts in one of the other bodies, but if it isn’t addressed or naturally reversed, then one day it appears in your physical reality and then stays there like a constant kicking when you are down.
But it doesn’t need to be this way.
There are techniques that can help cleanse your energy and keep your energetic vibration high (that magic mystical thing that helps you manifest wonderful things into your life)
Taking care of your body
Being fully aware of it. Having a healthy diet, eliminating toxins and addictions is how we help our body. Addiction is a negative energy and it suggests you are trying to fill an empty space. Granted not all addictions are consumed, however they still upset your personal energy field.
Exercise
Nothing cleanses the energy more than being connected to mother earth. Moving your body helps burns calories to keep you 'healthy and sexy' and supports the lymph nodes perform the important function of filtering out damaged cells in the body. On an energetic level it helps keep you grounded whilst your energy is at a higher vibration.
Yoga and meditation are also great in this category as you are allowing yourself to concentrate on your body and not give in to mental chatter.
Healthy Boundaries
Having healthy boundaries is extremely important.
Do you ever feel drained/tired/acutely ill after agreeing to do something for someone because they guilt tripped you into doing it? Or simply after having conversations with them? Do certain groups of people dump all their worries and problems on you?
This is a sign that you need your boundaries to become healthy.
You don’t want to completely build walls between yourself and everyone else because it’ll defeat the object; you do want to have social interaction but quality interaction.
A rule to live by: if you don’t want to do something someone else wants you to do – especially if it means you need to cancel your own plans: Learn to say ‘no’.
Decluttering
If you like to keep mementos or just hold on to things slightly longer than you really should do, then you are guilty of stagnating energy around you.
Regular de-cluttering not only keeps your space tidy but cleanses the energy allowing you to have space which is at a high vibration. You also let the universe/your soul know that you are ready for something new or better into your life.
Things to get rid of as a must are, anything that is broken (if it can be fixed, fix it asap). If you hold on to broken items you are putting out the energy that you don’t think you are worthy of better.
Clothes – we all do it, buy items then for whatever reason they are left in the wardrobe with the label – ‘one day I’ll fit into/get to wear this’ but suddenly years go by and it becomes an item that you can’t wear. It could have negative energy attached to it as a result.
If you don’t gain pleasure and joy from everything in your space, then change it.

Energy healing
Receiving healing such as Reiki (channelled Life force energy) or Crystal healing (earth energy) are great cleansers as they work on all the energetic bodies to help shift stuck or blocked energy in any of the chakras.
For example, stuck energy in your root chakra could lead to being accident prone or pains in the body, whereas, stuck energy in the heart chakra can show up as the in ability to attract lasting, loving relationships or even being able to express compassion!
